Invertext Online Technical Dictionary

net interest income, fees, trading results and others

phrase

margen ordinario

Definition 1

This reporting line of Spanish banks (along with many of their continental European colleagues) covers a wide variety of items: net interest income (which itself includes the dividends of both non-consolidated participated banks and trading companies); fees; commissions; trading results; exchange-rate gains; and, revealingly, 'others'. It is usually presented to English-speaking shareholders as 'ordinary revenues'.
