transitive verb
Definition 1
In stock-market parlance, sell newly issued securities at the earliest opportunity in order to cash the discount inherent in most new offerings or capital extensions as a means of attracting private investors with no vested interest in the issuer. Flipping is often organised by professional brokers operating on behalf of institutional investors keen on obtaining a strategic holding in the issuing company.
